Pro version

1. Video presentation

2. Configuration detail

Go on Axeptio’s website to create your account

Click on “Connexion” or “Try it for free” !

If you have several websites, login details (ID and Password) will be the same for all your websites.

Then you arrive on the authentication page et you must either create an account by clicking on “Create an account” or log in with your Google or Facebook account.

Once that’s done, you arrive at a back-office agency which is empty but still allows you to centralize all your projects

Then you arrive on the configuration of your cookie management tool et you have to enter your email address without the https:// then click on “next”

In the Integration section you’ll find the SDK, which you’ll have to enter in the footer of your website

The SDK can be loaded in the <header> tag or added before closing the <body> tag. For better performances, we recommend the second method, which allows the script to start parsing the page elements as soon as possible.

If you want to configurate several versions of cookies for your website, a new attribute will appear in the SDK. The line to add is: “el.setAttribute('data-cookies-version', 'Name_data_version')”

For more information, check the section: Create different versions of cookies

If you don’t know how to integrate it on your website, vous can consult the redirection below:

You can then choose “Customized Configuration”

3. Detailed configuration of the creation of a configuration

Before proceeding to this part of the configuration, it’s necessary to have activated the pro version of your cookies. To find out how to do it, you can consult this article:

Following the previous steps, you arrive at the back office where you can configure your cookie management. This screen is composed of 3 parts: The configuration of Axeptio steps, the technical management of the identifiers of your cookie version, the advanced configuration to manage texts and integration.

A - Version identifiers

We start by technically configuring our cookie management:

Entitled: This field allows you to recognize your cookie version as a user

Version identifier: This field allows you to technically identify your version. If you want to create several versions of cookies depending on the language of your website or to do an A/B testing, it’s this field that allows you to call the correct version

Widget language: This field allows you to pre-load the texts of the widget in English to avoid modifying them all. Please note that we currently only have two languages: FR & EN

Record proof of consent in the Axeptio API: This field allows you to save all consents in the Axeptio processing log. By default, Axeptio blocks the deposit of cookies so they can therefore only be executed if they’re accepted, however, to save the proof, it’s necessary to activate the checkbox.

Filling in all fields isn’t imposed but highly recommended. If you don’t configure them all, you may later have some display problems.

B - Steps

To choose the configuration of your screens, you have to go on the step part:

Then you’ll have the choice between several screens. There are two categories: Informative screens such as welcome screen or informative screen. Informative screens are used to inform users that you are using statistical or technical cookies without giving them the choice to accept it or not.

Warning: to place a cookie in this category, it's necessary to validate that it doesn't collect personal data or to anonymize it beforehand.

A good example of an informative screen is the utilisation of the Google Analytics cookie which becomes essential if we want to track our statistics. If we had created a consent screen and a user doesn’t consent to Analytics, then his visit won’t be counted, and all our stats will be wrong. This is why many present it simply for information purposes. Here’s how to anonymize Google Analytics: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2763052?hl=en

Category models are categories of cookie family and therefore consent that require to be validated by the user. Generally, we distinguish 4 main categories:

Audience analysis platforms, click tracking, heat maps… are also mostly subject to prior consent. Only some audience measurement analysis platforms don’t require prior consent (Xiti or Matomo for example). Google Analytics, used on most websites, requires the user’s consent.

You can therefore choose several screens that will be displayed one after the other. Usually, we start with a welcome informative screen, then we click on “new” once again to choose a second informative screen. In the same way, we choose a third experience and relationship screen.

Once you’ve chosen the different steps, you’ll be able to start configuring them: You can modify texts, colors and pictures for each step by going to the step in question. Thanks to the preview, you’ll be able to have a precise idea of what your users will see once the plug-in is integrated.

Once your different steps have been validated, you can either proceed to the customization or “Publish” directly.
